How does pair hedging work?
Pair Hedge uses a correlation matrix to pick two different assets from the asset pool, then opens one leg long and the other short at the same time. The two legs are managed as a single pair in hedge mode, and profit or loss is judged on the pair's combined total rather than on either leg alone.
What should I watch for when creating an API key?
⚠️ When creating the API key on the exchange you registered (Bitget, Gate.io, XT, Bybit), enable futures trading permission. Withdrawal permission must be turned OFF. 📌 If you use an IP whitelist, add this server IP: 66.42.42.24 (all your registered exchanges connect from this server — Bybit included)
What is the minimum to start?
The recommended minimum is 300 USDT, counted as the total across all the exchanges you have registered. That much is needed to spread the strategy across several pairs. Trading can technically start with less, but with a smaller balance fewer pairs can be open at once, so the strategy may not work as intended.
How do the licence fee and trading fees differ?
The licence fee and trading fees are two different things. The licence fee is for the software licence; trading fees are charged by the exchange, not by us. Exchange fee rates differ by exchange and by order type (limit or market), so check the fee schedule of the exchange you use for the exact rate.
What about the free trial and refunds?
After you sign up, registering your exchange API key issues a 10-day free trial. The trial is never charged automatically — it simply ends after 10 days. Because you try the service for free before buying, a purchased licence is non-refundable and cannot be cancelled mid-term. Please confirm this before purchasing. The free trial applies to newly registered members; members who signed up earlier and are already using the service are not covered.
How does billing and expiry work?
If you need to link a billing account, please contact the administrator. Your current subscription period is shown in the subscription panel on screen. If a payment is not confirmed, service does not stop immediately — a grace period is given. When a licence expires, only new trades stop being opened; positions already open continue to be managed and are not closed automatically.
Is my principal guaranteed? Who holds the funds?
Your principal is not guaranteed. This service automatically trades futures at 10x leverage inside your own exchange account, and depending on market conditions you can lose the entire amount you put in. If margin runs short, the exchange itself may liquidate your positions. Funds liquidated that way do not come back. Your money stays in your own exchange account: we do not hold your funds, we instruct you to leave withdrawal permission off on your API key, and the system never withdraws — it only places orders. Past returns do not guarantee future returns.
What happens if I lose money?
If margin runs short, the exchange itself may liquidate your position. That is outside what this system can prevent. For XT accounts, automatic loss-cutting applies to pairs opened on or after September 30, 2026: when a pair's P&L reaches −3% of one side's position size, the system immediately closes both positions together, and that loss is realized and cannot be recovered. Pairs opened before then follow the previous rules, and Bitget·Gate·Bybit accounts do not use automatic loss-cutting (positions are held until recovery).
How is risk managed?
Trades are placed as a pair hedge: two different assets opened at the same time, one long (buy) and the other short (sell), so that a loss on one side is offset by a gain on the other. Leverage is 10x on every asset, margin is cross, and at most 9 pairs are held at once. There is no risk setting you can adjust on screen. What you can control is turning automated trading on or off; turning it off stops new entries only, and pairs already open are not closed automatically.
Is this service investment advice?
This service provides a software licence. It is not investment advice and not discretionary asset management, and there is no profit-sharing arrangement. Your funds stay in your own exchange account and are traded with your own API key. I cannot confirm company details or registration status — please ask the administrator about those.
What do I get if I apply for the UpFinance card?
You can apply through the UpFinance card banner on the MetaQuant homepage. Once your card issuance is confirmed, trading time is added to your account — 10 days for a virtual card, 30 days for a physical one. Please fill in the “MetaQuant trading email” field on the application with the email you use for trading; without it we cannot tell which account to credit, and nothing is granted. Issuance is confirmed by a person, so it is applied after that check rather than the moment you apply. The card application, payment and card account itself are handled by UpFinance. The free period is capped at 60 days in total per member. Once the sign-up trial, referral rewards and card rewards together reach 60 days, nothing further is added.
Is there a referral programme?
Your own code and invitation link are shown under “My referral code” near the top of the screen. When someone who signs up through that link registers an exchange API key and receives the 10-day free trial, 5 days are added to your own period. It is added every time you refer someone, with no limit on how many times. If you already have a plan, the days are appended after your remaining period, and your plan and auto-renewal settings are not changed. Nothing is added until the person you referred registers an API key. If a code is missing or wrong, sign-up still succeeds — only the attribution is skipped. Registering as a partner (a revenue-sharing contract) is a separate arrangement made with the administrator. The free period is capped at 60 days in total per member. Once the sign-up trial, referral rewards and card rewards together reach 60 days, nothing further is added.
How do I change my password?
You can change your password with the 🔐 button in the top bar (between the 🔄 refresh button and Logout). Enter your current password, the new password, and the new password again. The new password must be at least 8 characters. If you forgot your password, use the 'Forgot your password?' link on the login screen.
How do I close my account or get support?
There is no self-service way to close your account on screen. If you want to withdraw, please contact the administrator. This service also has no customer-service phone line or separate support channel — contacting the administrator is the only route.
For anything not here, ask the assistant or contact the administrator.
